Bookshops of the West of England
Nothing equals the attraction of walking into a bookshop in an English country town; the door closes, traffic silenced, rows and rows of beautiful books, ‘Just take as long as you like’. Browsing idly, a book is chosen and a second book, then a move to other shelves passing military history, healthy living; almost picked up ‘Great Dogs I have Loved’ then spotted ‘Local Interest’. After another hour arms aching from five books, it is time to pay, a friendly chat, yes see you again, quite soon I expect.
But we have all missed our book shops during the Covid Famine. How many of them will re-open? Let’s work to ensure they all do, colinfletcherauthor.com has a list of addresses of one hundred bookshops throughout the West of England and plan to circulate our details to all of them. Are you a retailer? Want a free mention? Having difficulty ordering White Clyffe?
The interactive map will show the location of your bookshop and contact details if you decide to email this information to colin@foxhangers.co.uk. Our readers will also be able to visit your website if you provide the address, perhaps leading to an instant purchase.
